The Disability Resource Center (DRC) at Cal Poly provides note-taking services for authorized students who are registered with our office.

Become a Note-Taker

Want to be a note taker?
The DRC hires responsible Cal Poly students to take notes for students with disabilities. If you are interested in becoming a notetaker, please email drcnotes@calpoly.edu.

Try the Livescribe Pen

Students wishing to independently navigate the learning environment, without the need for a fellow student to serve as a note-taker, may wish to try the Livescribe Pen.

How the DRC Finds Note-Takers

  1. The DRC sends an email to the instructor and to students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher who are enrolled in the class a note-taker is needed.
  2. If no response, we resend the email.
  3. If unsuccessful, we will send someone to the class to make an announcement and/or hand out flyers.
  4. If still unsuccessful, we will post a position on Mustang Jobs.

You may contact Cheryl Westfall (cwestfal@calpoly.edu), Note-Taking Coordinator, at 756-1396 with any questions or concerns.
