My name is Tyler J. LaSalle, I was born and raised on the central coast. I grew up on a dairy farm in Templeton, CA, a small rural town just North of Cal Poly SLO.

I have strong family ties to this area and Cal Poly SLO. I received my undergraduate degree at Cal Poly as well as my Education Specialist Level I and Level II teaching credentials at Cal Poly. After earning my credential, I had a long career as a High School Special Education teacher. My career as a teacher has taught me the importance of being an advocate for students with unique needs and doing my best to help level the educational playing field for all students. I’ve always strived to help my students learn to challenge themselves so that they can maximize their ability and grow as a student and a member of their communities.

I look forward to this opportunity to continue my family tradition of working for a great institution like Cal Poly SLO while at the same time following a passion of mine through the support and growth of students here at Cal Poly.

Fun Facts about me: My grandmother lived on the Cal Poly campus growing up. I fulfilled a childhood dream of walking on to the Cal Poly SLO baseball team in the Fall of 2001 when I first attended Cal Poly.
