About Lauren

I grew up in Palm Springs, California I went to San Francisco State University for my undergraduate B.A. in English Education and lived there for 7 years. After my adventure in San Francisco I moved to Portland, Oregon where I got my Master’s in Education from Portland State University and shortly after completion, I moved here to San Luis Obispo!

I’ve worked as a Volunteer Sexual Assault Crisis Counselor for SFWAR for two years. I worked at the Independent Living Resource Center, Inc. as the Emergency Preparedness Services Manager providing assistance with personalized emergency planning, emergency kits, and other services for people with disabilities and the aging community.

I am excited and grateful to work at the Disability Resource Center as an Access Specialist with this amazing diverse community! I am passionate about accessibility, safety, and learning.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, creating art, walking my American Staffordshire Terrier, and exploring new places. During these challenging times it’s important to prioritize our needs for self-care, mental health, and connection with others. I’m here to support you and I’m happy to join the kind Cal Poly community.
