I am originally from Arkansas and spent many years living in Texas, but California is my home! I moved to San Luis Obispo from the LA area. I began my career in education 20 years ago as a high school special education teacher. Since then, I have been a social-emotional school counselor as well as a community college counselor for students with disabilities. I have my M.Ed. in Special Education and School Counseling. I absolutely love what I do and am passionate about equity and ensuring that all students receive access to quality education and services! I also enjoy helping students learn how to better self-advocate.

I am also passionate about social justice issues, animal rescue, music and traveling. During “down time” I enjoy spending time with my family, attending sporting events (Go Dodgers! Go Kings!), going to concerts, cooking, being on or near the water and watching true crime documentaries. Our dogs, Scully and Pebbles, and our cat, Marley, have my heart! I am so excited to be part of the amazing DRC team and the Cal Poly community!
