Savio Chan, Access Specialist/Deaf Services Coordinator

As an access specialist and deaf services coordinator, Savio is eager to collaborate with students, families, faculty and staff with the goal of an equitable and accessible Cal Poly experience. He believes individuals are the experts of their own lives and should lead discussions, self-advocate and make informed choices about their needs throughout their academic and career pathways.

Savio grew in a deaf immigrant multilingual family in the San Francisco Bay Area. He received his BA in Psychology from UC Berkeley and MS in Rehabilitation Counseling from San Diego State University. During graduate school, he was diagnosed with a metastatic brain tumor and is in partial remission. He enjoys playing and listening to music, yoga and hanging out with kitties.
