About Delicia

Delicia is originally from the Central Valley of California. Her passion for education and counseling started when she was a volunteer for the Kings County Probation Department and offered office and court support for their Victim Witness Center. Delicia studied at San Diego State University (SDSU) where she earned a BS in Psychology and an MA in Education Counseling with an emphasis in Trauma Informed Care. She also studied at Anaheim University where she earned an MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

Delicia has worked in post-secondary education for over a decade and has extensive experience working with students from around the globe both as a professor and academic advisor. Her background in Second Language Acquisition, pedagogy and counseling helped influence her career for over 10 years at SDSU in addition to K-12 private schools. During her time as an academic advisor she assisted students with their study abroad experience, matriculating to university and conflict resolution. She has presented at regional and state conferences and has also worked with local community colleges and their college preparatory programs. Delicia enjoys working with students and helping them reach their goals. Her hobbies include live music, sporting events and travel.
