About Rita

I grew up in the Bay Area, where I worked on a network administration team in the heart of San Francisco. I really enjoyed my time there helping our staff troubleshoot all kinds of computer and network issues. Once I met my future husband, Caleb, I fell head over heels in love with him and we were soon married and happily living in…..Bakersfield of all places!

I decided to finish my bachelor’s degree and quickly got a job as a technology teacher at a middle school. I had the great privilege of teaching computer skills, engineering, and industrial technology classes to hundreds of students over the years in a “learn by doing” environment. I've worked at the Disability Resource Center here at Cal Poly over the past few years and enjoy helping our students, faculty, and staff out in the areas of technology and alternative media.

My years working in education and Information Technology have taught me so many valuable lessons and allow me to interact with a diverse population on a daily basis. I love helping others out and seeing their eyes light up when they are finally able to understand a complex idea. If I can be of any assistance to you in the areas of technology or alternative media, please don’t hesitate to give me a call. And remember, “life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away!”
