About Laurie

Laurie Walcott has her certification in both interpreting and transliterating from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Deaf Studies from California State University, Northridge, in 1989. Since then, Laurie has worked in various interpreting settings in both San Luis Obispo and San Diego counties, including educational K-12, post secondary education and free-lance interpreting. Laurie has also been cross-trained in the Typewell Transcription System since 2005. She is currently employed at Cal Poly and occasionally does freelance work.
